On the 26 March 2009, at the Uffizi in Florence there was an evening devoted to the work of Valentino Monticello. Three experts in the field of wine, opera and art each commented on the different aspects of his work. The event took place in the library of this famous museum.
Earlier in the year he also donated a picture to the Napa Valley Wine Auction. The piece was called Napa Valley Flowers and was fantastic. The vineyards who gave the labels to create the picture also gave large format bottles of their own wines to complete the lot. Needless to say, it raised a substantial amount when it was finally came up for auction.
Valentino has also created the cover for the Wine Society's Spring Wine List. The picture was of a stunning picture of a lady, holding a mask while attending the Carnival in Venice. All the labels used were from the Wine Society.
