Die Tote Stadt
This Opera is in three acts and is by Erich Wolfgang Korngold.
Korngold was one of the most famous child prodigies of Vienna, he wrote music that has soaring
love melodies, swashbuckling thrusts and parries and erotic dances.Within two years of its
premiere in the 1920's, eighty European productions had been staged. The opera
takes its title from the novel "Bruges-la-Morte"by Rodenbach. The labels used in this
picture are from Belgium. Belgium does not produce much wine, prefering to import its
wines, particularly from France.
This picture is framed in black
wood with a golden inner frame. It looks absolutely stunning.
